BODY

body

[bod-ee]

noun, pluralĀ bodies

The physical structure and material substance of an animal or plant, living or dead.

That’s how the dictionary defines a body. But how do we define our bodies every day?

We define our bodies by how fast we run – an extra tenth off a 40 can be the difference between a full-ride and a partial scholarship.

We define our bodies by what we weigh – we make that number on the scale mean so much more than what it is – a number.

We define our bodies by how we feel when we roll out of bed in the morning – how much we creak, how rested we feel and how ready we are to meet the day.

We define our bodies by what the doctors tell us – diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and more are silent killers.

And we define our bodies by the progress we make to run faster, jump higher, sleep deeper, live happier, move better, and more.
